Passionately Pink
On October 5th we hosted our 3rd annual “Dress Pink to Drink.” Everyone who attended wore their best pink outfits, made a $5 donation at the door, enjoyed pink champagne punch, yummy desserts and appetizers and shopped till they dropped! Thanks to all who attended we raised almost $300 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
We would like to give special thanks to all of our dealers here at The Brick Basement who attended and brought guests. It is because of these dealers that the night was such a success. Thanks to Donna, Lisa, Linda, Susan, Patti & her daughters, Charlene, Cyndy, Phyllis and Melinda. We would also like to especially thank those who donated to our raffle prizes- Judy, Sandy, Marylin and Patti you ladies helped raise addittional funds for the foundation.

I am my family’s number one fan! So not being partial at all I think my Grandma is the best, she is so talented, funny, and loving. That being said, she can be a real stinker when it comes to her buttons.
My grandmother has been an avid collector of buttons since she was six years old. Her collection is huge and absolutely amazing. She spends hours going thru her buttons looking at them and touching them, even sorting them out into different categories. She is so cute!! We always joke about going to grandma’s house and sneaking some buttons for projects or crafts.
Last year when my grandma was out of town I bought some of my own buttons to put in a jar in my living room. I knew when she got home she would think I stole them from her. Sure enough she spotted them right away!! I love my buttons because they serve as a reminder of how wonderful my grandma is. Knowing she thinks I swiped them from her collection puts a smile on my face every time!

Angels For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with angels. They are so beautiful, just looking at them makes me happy. Their faces are always so calm and pure and their wings fascinate me. For the last five or so years I have been a devoted collector of these beauties. Come to my house and you will find them scattered in every room, if I thought I could fit more, I would. |
My favorite Angels are made from plaster and distressed to look old. I like them sitting, kneeling, laying, standing or even hanging on the walls. They match any decor and make a wonderful addition to any home!

The presence of these angelic beauties in my home keeps me in high spirits.

My mom, my sister and I were all involved in the Fullerton Chapter of National Charity League. My mom was even the president of our chapter in 2001. For those of you that don’t know, it is a great organization of women, mothers and their daughters, who host social events, meetings and most importantly volunteer lots and lots of hours and raise funds for charity. |

We are planning our third Home & Garden tour and have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to this great organization, specifically to their scholarship fund. We hope to raise lots of money and help as many girls as possible in realizing their dream of attending college.

My mother in law is my number one fan. At times she can be embarrassing; telling everyone how great I am at every opportunity. But she is excellent for advertising and a wonderful woman. Not long ago my sister and I did a DESIGN REMIXon their home. She was so shocked she almost cried.
Shortly after the make over she wanted pillows and a throw to finish of the room. We went to the fabric store together and picked out several different colors and textures to really tie the room together. I think it came out beautifully adding to her eclectic style and pulling the whole room together.

I just finished this lampshade and I think it is adorable! I have been eyeing the frame for sometime and finally came up with something romantic to fit it perfectly. I used raw silk and silk ribbon for the bows.
I was making it to sell, but i like it so much I think I will take it home!! |

I grew up in a home with an amazing mom who shared her love of fabric and creativity with my sister and me. For as long as I can remember my mom has been collecting beautiful fabrics and trims, at any given time you could go to her sewing room and find something incredible to create with. Summers were filled with trips to the fabric store and adventures to grandma’s house for crafting fun!!! Growing up with such a creative role model rubbed off on my sister and I. Now we too love beautiful fabrics and trims and share mom’s ability to create something out of nothing.
Recently my sister created some adorable lampshades out of bits and pieces found in the stores closet and in some of our dealers’ spaces!! One of the lampshades was featured in the August issue of Romantic Homes under the make it section.
These lampshades are absolutely adorable and very easy to make, just use your imagination and you to will come up with something incredible. Or come in and see us at the store and we will create a one of a kind lampshade especially for you.

My Friends and Neighbors just recently had an adorable baby girl. Adeline was born Tuesday September 1st and weighs 8lbs 7oz. She is happy and healthy and makes a wonderful addition to their family. Adeline has beautiful blue eyes like mom and lots of dark brown hair, she is so cute!!
Before she was born, my friends had me design and create some super cute pillows for her crib. I used window valances that match her bedding and turned them into small throw pillows. They make an excellent addition to her cozy little crib!!
Welcome Home Addi!!
